Absolutely! Genesis has created telemedicine tech that lets doctors and nurse practitioners care for you from anywhere. Every healthcare provider you connect with is licensed to prescribe and treat patients in your state. Got feedback about the platform or a concern about a provider? We’re all ears—just reach out to us!
Yes! Telemedicine is totally safe and effective—as long as you’re honest and accurate with your answers. It’s super important that you only upload photos of yourself and your ID (not someone else’s) during your online visit. Healthcare pros can only help if they have the right, up-to-date info about you—whether it’s online or in person.
Doctors and nurse practitioners on the Genesis platform rely completely on the details you share during your visit, whether it’s through secure chat, phone, or video. They can’t verify your info externally. And if you’re prescribed medication, be sure to read the personalized treatment plan your provider sends before taking anything. It’s crucial to fully understand everything so you can properly weigh the risks and benefits of the treatment
Through Genesis, you can find GLP-1s like Ozempic® and Wegovy®—but knowing that the availability of those medications can change, we are working closely with trusted partners to support our customers in accessing the weight loss treatment that is right for them using pharmacy compounding.
While name-brand FDA-approved drugs like Ozempic® and Wegovy® are currently in short supply, Genesis also provides compounded versions of GLP-1s formulated with the same active ingredient. The formulations of these compounded semaglutide products are held to high quality standards and developed in FDA-regulated facilities. This means you can start your weight loss journey with confidence even while other drugs may be on the FDA drug shortage list.
Compounded semaglutide, including Genesis’ product, is not approved or evaluated for safety, efficacy, or quality by FDA. Wegovy® (semaglutide) and Ozempic® (semaglutide) are not compounded. Wegovy® (semaglutide) is FDA-approved for weight loss. Ozempic® (semaglutide) is FDA-approved for type 2 diabetes treatment but may be prescribed off-label for weight loss at a healthcare provider’s discretion.
The ingredients are sourced from FDA-regulated suppliers and the treatments are compounded in FDA-regulated facilities.
After your online visit, a doctor or nurse practitioner at Genesis will review your medical history within 24 hours. If it’s been longer than that, no worries—just shoot us an email at help@trygenesis.com, and we’ll get it sorted!"
It depends! Telemedicine laws are different in each state. In a few states, a video chat with your provider is required. If you're in one of those states, no worries—after your initial online visit, a doctor or nurse practitioner from Genesis will contact you to schedule a time that works best for a quick video chat.
Once your provider has prescribed a GLP-1 medication or other weight loss option, we send your prescription to a licensed compounding pharmacy. The pharmacy typically processes the order within 3-4 business days, after which it is shipped via 2-day shipping. Most clients receive their medication within 8-10 business days from their initial provider visit.
Generally, there are no specific foods that must be avoided while taking compounded semaglutide. However, individual responses to medication can vary, and it’s essential to pay attention to how your body reacts. If you experience any side effects such as nausea, bloating, or discomfort, adjusting your diet may help alleviate these symptoms.
As a general guideline, it’s advisable to avoid foods that tend to cause gas or bloating, particularly on days when you increase your dose. High-fat or highly processed foods, carbonated drinks, and certain vegetables like beans, cabbage, or broccoli may contribute to these issues. By identifying and minimizing foods that trigger discomfort, you can better manage any side effects and support the effectiveness of the treatment.
Medication is designed for long-term weight loss treatment and isn’t meant for short-term use. If you stop taking it, the triggers that previously led to unhealthy eating habits might come back. Always check in with a licensed medical provider at Genesis before making any changes to your treatment!
Everyone’s weight loss journey is different! Results aren’t instant and the timeline will vary for each person.
The amount of weight lost by Genesis clients varies based on several factors, but on average they lose around 5% of their initial body weight. Over a 12-week period, some clients have lost as much as 10%, which for a 200-pound person would equate to 10-20 pounds.
Individual results may differ, as the most successful patients are those who work diligently to implement lasting dietary and lifestyle changes. Healthy weight loss is generally defined as 1-2 pounds per week. Rapid or extreme weight loss is not a medically recommended outcome.
Before your doctor or nurse practitioner at Genesis can treat you via telemedicine, we’ll need to confirm your identity with two photos:
- A picture of your government-issued ID. It must show:
– First & last name
– Photo
– Date of birth
– ID expiration date (must be valid) - A clear photo of your face. Make sure it doesn’t have:
– Sunglasses, hats, or anything covering your face
– Family photos
– Filters
– Pictures of a picture
We’ll only use these photos to make sure they match. If you have any questions about how to upload them, feel free to email us at help@trygenesis.com!
Semaglutide hasn’t been studied for safety in pregnant or breastfeeding patients, so it’s best to stop using it at least two months before trying to get pregnant. Remember, always keep your doctor in the loop about any meds you're taking or thinking about taking to stay safe. Be sure to check with your doctor before starting or stopping any medication.
In an emergency, please call 9-1-1 immediately.
